The risk of heart attack or stroke increases dramatically over the age of 50

You may benefit from a cardiovascular screen if you answer yes to 2 or more of these questions:
  • Are you a man over the age of 45?
  • Are you a woman over the age of 55?
  • Is there a history of heart disease or stroke in your family?
  • Do you, or have you ever smoked?
  • Is your cholesterol raised?
  • Do you have high blood pressure?
  • Do you exercise less than 20 mins per day over the course of a week?
  • Are you overweight? (see tables below)
  • Have you ever had the symptoms of angina, a heart attack or a mini-stroke?
  • Do you get cramping pains in your legs?
